DripOut Privacy Policy

DripOut: Water Speaker Cleaner · Effective 3 October 2026

Summary

  • DripOut has no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location.
  • The microphone is used only for the Speaker Test and Mic Test. Audio is processed on your phone and is never saved to storage or sent anywhere.
  • Your settings are stored only on your phone.
  • The app uses Google services for ads (AdMob), anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Firebase), and purchases (Google Play Billing). These services collect some device data as described below.
  • You can turn off usage and crash data in Settings, change your ad privacy choices, and delete your data in the app at any time.

Who we are

This policy covers the Android app DripOut (package xyz.devnerd.waterdustcleaner), published on Google Play. In this policy "we" means the developer of DripOut. For any privacy question, contact raisingphoenix289@gmail.com.

Information the app handles

1. Microphone audio (Speaker Test and Mic Test)

The Speaker Test plays a short sweep and listens through the microphone to estimate how clear the speaker sounds. The Mic Test records up to 10 seconds so you can play it back. In both cases the audio stays in the phone's memory while the screen is open and is then discarded. It is never written to storage, uploaded or shared. The microphone is only used after you grant the permission and start a test.

2. Settings stored on your phone

The app saves your preferences on your device: theme, vibration and haptic settings, the last cleaning mode and tab, the dust reminder setting, whether usage data is shared, and whether DripOut Pro is unlocked on this device. This data never leaves your phone and is removed by Settings → Delete my data or by uninstalling the app.

3. Usage statistics and crash reports (Firebase)

To understand which features are used and to fix crashes, the app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. This is controlled by Settings → Share usage and crash data, which is on by default and can be turned off at any time. When it is on, the following may be collected:

  • App events, for example a clean started or finished, its mode and length, test results (such as the clarity score), which tool pages were opened, ad impressions, and purchase results (purchased, cancelled, etc.). Events contain no audio and no personal content.
  • Whether DripOut Pro is unlocked.
  • Device and app information: device model, Android version, app version, language, country/region derived from the IP address, and a random app instance identifier.
  • Crash reports: the technical state of the app at the time of a crash (stack trace, device model, OS version, free memory).

When the switch is off, the app stops sending analytics events and crash reports.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Ads may be personalised based on this data where the law allows and you have agreed.

  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform) before any ads load, and you can change your choice later in Settings → Privacy choices.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
  • DripOut Pro removes all ads.

5. Purchases (Google Play Billing)

DripOut Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment card or billing details. The app only receives confirmation that the purchase belongs to your Google account, so Pro can be unlocked and restored.

6. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app shows a notification while a clean or tone is playing, tells you when a clean finishes in the background, and, if you turn it on, sends a dust reminder. Notifications are created on your phone; no data is sent to us to show them.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the Google services above, which process it to provide their service:

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention and deletion

  • On your phone: Settings → Delete my data stops any playback, cancels the dust reminder, forgets test results and resets all settings. Uninstalling the app removes everything stored by the app.
  • Analytics: user-level Firebase Analytics data is kept for the Google Analytics retention period (2 months by default, at most 14 months) and then deleted automatically. Crashlytics crash reports are kept for 90 days.
  • Ads: data collected by Google for ads is kept according to Google's own policies.
  • Because the app has no accounts, analytics data isn't linked to your name or email, and we usually can't single out one person's records. Turning off Share usage and crash data stops new data, and existing data expires as described above. You can still email us with any deletion request and we'll help as far as we can.

Your choices and rights

  • Turn usage and crash data off in Settings → Share usage and crash data.
  • Change ad consent in Settings → Privacy choices (shown where required), and manage your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
  • Deny or revoke the microphone or notification permission in your phone's app settings. The rest of the app keeps working.
  • Delete local data in Settings → Delete my data, or uninstall the app.
  • Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Email us to make a request; we'll reply within 30 days.

Children

DripOut is a general utility and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data sent to Google's services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Settings stored on your phone are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
