This policy explains what data An Hearing Aid ("the App") collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. By using the App you agree to the terms below.

1. Microphone Audio

The App uses the device microphone to run a real-time hearing-aid function: audio captured from the microphone is processed (gain, equalization, noise reduction) on-device and played back to your headphones or output device.

• Audio is processed entirely on-device, in real time.
• Audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
• The App requests RECORD_AUDIO permission only for this purpose. A foreground service (with a persistent notification) keeps the audio engine running while the app is backgrounded or the screen is off; you can stop it at any time from the notification or the app.

2. Feedback Submissions (Optional)

If you choose to submit feedback, a bug report, or a feature request from within the App, the following is sent to our backend:

This submission is voluntary — the App does not collect or send feedback data unless you initiate it. Attachments are stored on our cloud storage provider and used solely to resolve the reported issue.

3. Usage Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how its features are used, so we can fix problems and decide what to improve. This is interaction metadata only — what was tapped or changed, never the content of what you hear or write.

What we record:

• Screens viewed and how you moved between them.
• Controls used and the settings you chose: power on/off, left/right amplification level in dB, boost and noise-reduction toggles, equalizer bands and presets, theme, language, and whether headphones or the loudspeaker are connected.
• Onboarding and permission outcomes — which step you reached and whether the microphone / notification permission was granted.
• Feedback form usage — the category you selected, whether you supplied an email, and whether the submission succeeded. The text you typed is not sent to analytics (see Section 2 for what the feedback backend receives).
• App launches and exits, and when an ad was shown.

What we never send to analytics: microphone audio or any data derived from it, the text of your feedback, your email address, your name, or any other content you enter.

Firebase also automatically collects a randomly generated app instance identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, country/region (inferred from your IP address, which Google does not retain), and, on ad-supported installs, an advertising identifier. Handling of this data is governed by Firebase's privacy documentation and Google's Privacy Policy. We use it only in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual users.

You can limit how this data is used for advertising through your device's Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads), including resetting or deleting your advertising ID.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect an advertising identifier and other data to serve and measure ads, per Google's Partner Sites policy. We do not control what AdMob collects. If you purchase the ad-free / premium option, ads and this data collection stop. Note that the usage analytics described in Section 3 continue on the premium tier.

5. Network & Device Information

The App checks network connectivity (Wi-Fi/mobile data availability) to decide when to load ads or submit feedback. No browsing history is collected for this purpose.

6. Data We Do Not Collect

• No account or sign-in is required to use the App.
• No audio recordings are stored or uploaded, and no analytics event contains audio or anything derived from what your microphone hears.
• No precise or GPS location is collected. Analytics infers only an approximate region (country/city level) from your IP address, as described in Section 3.
• No contacts, photos, or files are accessed beyond an attachment you explicitly choose to send with feedback.

7. Local Storage

App settings (theme, language, audio profile, onboarding status) are stored locally on your device via Android SharedPreferences and are not transmitted anywhere.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with:

• Google Firebase Analytics — for usage analytics (see Section 3).
• Google AdMob — for ad serving (see Section 4).
• Our feedback backend and its cloud storage provider — only for feedback you submit (see Section 2).

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Data Security

All network communication from the App is encrypted (cleartext traffic is disabled). Feedback attachments are transferred and stored via encrypted, access-controlled cloud storage.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this same location with an updated effective date.
