Privacy Policy — Emoji Verse

Effective date: August 18, 2026

Emoji Verse ("the app", "we", "us") is an emoji-based puzzle game published by the developer at raisingphoenix289@gmail.com. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it's handled.

1. No account required

Emoji Verse does not require sign-up, login, or any personal account. You can play the entire game — solve puzzles, unlock worlds, earn stars — offline; your progress lives on your device. When the device is online, the app does send anonymous analytics, crash reports and (for the optional leaderboard) gameplay stats, as described in sections 3–5. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or location.

2. Data stored only on your device

The following is stored locally (SharedPreferences / DataStore) and never transmitted to us:

DataPurpose
Level progress, best stars per level, total starsTrack your puzzle progress and unlocks
App settings (theme, accent color, sound/music/haptics, language)Remember your preferences
Launch count, review-prompt state, premium flagApp behavior (e.g. rate-us prompt), purchase state

3. Data sent to our servers (optional features)

Two optional features send limited, non-identifying data to our backend so you can compare scores with other players:

FeatureData sentPurpose
Leaderboard A randomly generated anonymous player ID; puzzle attempt stats — elapsed solve time, lives used, hints used, computed IQ score; the display name you choose Rank you against other players and show global/level leaderboards
Push notifications (optional, permission-gated) Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token, tied to your anonymous player ID Deliver notifications (e.g. daily reward reminders) — only if you grant notification permission

The anonymous player ID is a random identifier generated on your device. It is not your name, email, phone number, or any government-issued identifier, and we do not ask for any of those. The display name is whatever you type in — don't use your real name if you'd rather stay anonymous on the leaderboard.

4. Analytics, crash logs & app performance

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the game is used and to find and fix bugs. This data is collected automatically while you play (no sign-up, no personal profile) and is processed by Google on our behalf:

CategoryWhat is collectedPurpose
Crash logs Stack traces of crashes and non-fatal errors, the app version and build, the state of the app at the moment of the crash (breadcrumb logs we add, e.g. which screen or level was open), device model, OS version, available memory/storage and whether the device is rooted Diagnose crashes and ship fixes. Crash reporting is disabled in debug builds and only active in the published release build.
Other app performance data Session starts and length, app open/foreground events, ad load and display events, and error events reported as non-fatals Measure app stability and responsiveness, and detect broken features
App interactions Screen views (which screen you opened), navigation and scroll events, button/menu taps such as opening settings, the store, the leaderboard or a world, level tile taps, and the settings toggles you flip (which setting and its new value) Understand which screens and features are used, and improve navigation and UI
Other actions (gameplay events) Gameplay telemetry: level start / win / fail / out-of-tries, level and theme id, elapsed solve time, stars earned, hints, undos and replays used, lives spent or refilled, daily-challenge starts, solves and streak, world and level unlocks, cosmetic skin unlocks and equips, in-game move events (tile place/move/return, pours, pairs, gap fills), rewarded-ad taps and reward grants, in-app purchase grants, and rate-us / review-prompt events Balance level difficulty, tune the reward economy, and measure which content players finish or drop

These events describe your interaction with the game — they do not include your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, location coordinates, or the contents of any other app.

5. Device or other IDs

The app and its SDKs use the following identifiers. None of them is a government-issued ID, and none is linked to your name or email:

IdentifierWhere it comes fromPurpose
Firebase app-instance ID / installation ID Generated by Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics on first run Group analytics events and crash reports coming from the same app install
Advertising ID (AAID) Provided by Google Play services, used by AdMob Serve and measure ads (see section 6). Not used when you own the premium ad-free tier. You can reset it or opt out of personalization in Android settings.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token Generated per install by Firebase Messaging Deliver push notifications — only if you grant notification permission
Anonymous player ID Random value generated on your device and stored locally Identify your leaderboard entry and your notification registration

These identifiers are per-install: clearing app data or reinstalling produces new ones, which also detaches you from the old leaderboard entry.

6. Advertising

Emoji Verse shows ads (banner, native, interstitial, and rewarded) via Google AdMob, unless you've purchased the premium (ad-free) tier. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location, and other data to serve and measure ads, per Google's own policies. We do not control or receive this data directly. See:

You can opt out of personalized ads in your device's ad settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads), and premium users see no ads at all.

7. Permissions used

PermissionWhy
INTERNETLeaderboard sync, ads
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEDetect connectivity to show correct online/offline UI
POST_NOTIFICATIONSShow optional push notifications (Android 13+), only if you grant it
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDMerged in by the Google Mobile Ads SDK; lets AdMob read the advertising ID to serve and measure ads (non-premium users only)

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. Data described above is shared only with:

We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers, and none of it is used for credit scoring or similar decisions.

9. Data retention & deletion

Local data (progress, settings) stays on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Server-side leaderboard data (anonymous player ID, display name, attempt stats) is retained to keep leaderboards accurate. To request deletion of your server-side data, email us with your in-app display name at raisingphoenix289@gmail.com and we'll remove it. Firebase Analytics event data is kept for Google's configured retention window (currently 14 months) and Crashlytics crash reports for up to 90 days, after which Google deletes them automatically.

10. Children's privacy

Emoji Verse is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Security

All network traffic — our backend, Firebase and AdMob alike — uses HTTPS; cleartext traffic is disabled at the OS level (network_security_config.xml plus usesCleartextTraffic="false"). The data described above carries no direct personal identifiers, so nothing identifying you personally is transmitted in the first place.

12. Your rights

Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR in the EU/EEA, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data associated with your anonymous player ID or app-instance ID. Since we don't collect names, emails, or other direct identifiers, most requests can be resolved via your in-app display name — contact us to exercise these rights. You can also stop most collection yourself: turn off notifications in system settings, opt out of ad personalization (or buy the ad-free tier), or clear app data / uninstall, which drops the local identifiers that tie events together.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
