Drop Lock Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Drop Lock puzzle game for Android ("the app", package xyz.devnerd.droplock) handles information. The app is developed by Devnerd ("we", "us").
In short: we don't ask for an account, and we run no servers that receive your data. Your game progress stays on your device. The app shows ads through Google AdMob, sells optional items through Google Play, and uses Google's Firebase to understand how the game is played and to find crashes. Those Google services collect some data, as described below.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following locally on your phone:
- Game progress: best stars per level, your hint and undo balances, stars spent and worlds opened early, themes earned with stars, and which world intros and tips you have seen.
- Settings: skin, board style, sound, haptics, dead-end warning and cascade speed.
- A record of the items you have bought, refreshed from Google Play each time the app starts.
We can't see this data. If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android may include it in your device backup, which Google handles under its own privacy terms. Reset progress in Settings clears your stars and level progress. Uninstalling the app removes all of this data from the device.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows rewarded ads (watched only if you choose to, in exchange for hints, undos or opening the next world early), occasional full-screen ads between levels, and an ad on the level-complete screen. These ads come from Google AdMob. To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- Your device's advertising ID
- Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version and app version
- Approximate location derived from your IP address
- Interactions with ads, such as views and taps
Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
To learn which levels are too hard, where players stop, and what goes wrong, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. They collect:
- Gameplay events: for example, that a level was started, solved or left, with the number of moves, the time taken, stars earned, and whether hints or undos were used. Also which screens and settings you use, ads shown or watched, and items viewed in the shop.
- An app instance ID, a random ID for this installation, plus your device's advertising ID where your consent allows it.
- Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and approximate location (country or region) derived from your IP address.
- Crash reports: technical details of a crash or error and the level that was open at the time.
We never send your name, email address, contacts or anything you type. We see this data only in aggregate reports and use it to improve the game. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Learn more in the Firebase privacy information.
Your consent and choices
- Consent: where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before any ads load or any analytics identifiers are stored. You can choose personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or decline. Analytics and ad measurement follow the same choice.
- Change your mind: open Settings → Ads → Privacy options in the app to review or withdraw your choice at any time. Your new choice applies to both ads and analytics.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads on some devices).
- Remove Ads: buying Remove Ads turns off the full-screen ads between levels and the ad on the level-complete screen. Rewarded ads stay available, but only if you choose to watch them.
Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Optional purchases (Remove Ads, themes, Unlimited Undo, All Worlds, and packs of hints or undos) are processed by Google Play. We never receive your payment details. Google shares with the app only what it needs to confirm a purchase, such as the product, the purchase status and a purchase token. Google's handling of payment data is covered by the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
