Privacy Policy

AR DrawKit: Trace & Sketch · Effective date: July 5, 2026 · Package: xyz.devnerd.ardrawingkit

1. Introduction

AR DrawKit: Trace & Sketch ("the App", "we", "us") is an Android application that lets you trace reference images using your device camera, browse drawing guides, and save finished artwork. This policy explains what data the App collects, why, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

The App is developed and operated by an independent developer. This policy applies only to the App itself — not to any third-party site you may reach through an ad or link.

2. Data We Collect

We keep collection to the minimum needed to run the App and its free-with-ads model. We do not require account creation, name, or address for any App feature.

CategoryWhat it isCollected?
Camera feedLive video from your device camera, used to overlay a reference image while you traceProcessed on-device only. Not recorded or transmitted unless you explicitly capture a photo/video.
Microphone audioOnly if you turn on "record with sound" while saving a drawing videoOptional, on-device recording only, saved locally like the video.
Saved drawings/photos/videosCaptures you choose to save from trace sessionsStored locally on your device (gallery/MediaStore). Not uploaded by us.

Feedback you submitBug reports / feature requests: title, details, category, app version, basic device info, an optional screenshot attachment, and an optional email address if you choose to enter oneOnly when you use the in-app Feedback form. The email field is optional and used only to follow up with you.

Purchase dataSubscription status (active/inactive)Handled entirely by Google Play Billing; we only receive an entitlement status, never your card details.
Network stateWhether you're onlineRead on-device only to show connectivity states; never transmitted.

3. How We Use Data

  • Run the App: render the camera overlay, load drawing guides, save your work locally.
  • Anonymous product analytics: understand which drawing categories are popular, how often people finish a drawing, and what people search for — so we know what to add next. These counters are tied to a random device ID, never your identity.
  • Support: if you submit feedback with your email, we use it solely to respond to that report.
  • Advertising: show banner/interstitial/rewarded ads that fund free use of the App (see §6).
  • Subscriptions: unlock ad-free / premium features you've paid for, via Google Play Billing.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for money. See §12 for what "share" means for California ad-personalization purposes.

4. Device Permissions

  • Camera — required for the core AR tracing feature. The feed is used live and not stored unless you tap capture.
  • Microphone — only requested if you enable audio when saving a drawing-session video. You can decline it and still record video without sound.
  • Internet — required to load ads, sync anonymous usage counters, submit feedback, and process subscriptions.
  • Network state — used to detect connectivity and show appropriate offline/online states in the UI.

You can review or revoke any permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → AR DrawKit: Trace & Sketch → Permissions, or in-app under Settings → Privacy & Security → App Permissions.

5. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google AdMob (advertising) — Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Play Billing (subscription payments) — handled entirely within Google Play; we never see your payment method.
  • Google Play In-App Review & In-App Update (Play Core APIs) — standard Play Services functionality, governed by Google's policy above.
  • Our own backend (devnerd.xyz) — stores anonymous usage counters and any feedback you submit, on infrastructure we control.

6. Advertising & Consent (AdMob / UMP)

The free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, rewarded, and native ad formats). Where required by law (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions), we present Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form before requesting any ads, so you can choose personalized or non-personalized ads, or decline, per Google's Consent Management Platform requirements. No ad SDK is initialized and no ad is requested until this consent flow resolves.

You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy → Privacy Options in the App (shown only if your region requires it), which reopens the consent form.

Subscribing to the ad-free/premium tier stops all ad requests and ad-related identifier use going forward.

You can also reset your device Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization at the OS level: Android Settings → Google → Ads.

7. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Premium subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive only an entitlement signal (subscribed / not subscribed) used to unlock features and disable ads locally on your device. Refunds, billing history, and payment methods are managed directly through your Google Play account.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Saved drawings/photos/videos live in your device's own gallery — delete them anytime from your device, independent of the App.
  • The anonymous device ID and its usage counters are retained on our backend until you request deletion or uninstall the App and the ID is never reused elsewhere.
  • Feedback submissions (including any email you provided) are retained as long as needed to resolve the report, then deleted or anonymized periodically.
  • To request deletion of any backend-held data tied to your device, email us at the address in §15 with your device's anonymous ID (Settings → About) or the email you used in a feedback submission.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport via HTTPS, secret-gated API endpoints, no plaintext credentials) to protect data in transit to our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we do not store payment details, passwords, or account credentials at all, which limits exposure if a breach were to occur.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data (e.g., via the Feedback form), contact us and we will delete it.

11. GDPR — Rights for EU / UK / EEA Users

If you are located in the EU, UK, or EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the following rights over any personal data we hold about you:

  • Access — request a copy of data we hold tied to your device ID or feedback email.
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data (e.g., a feedback email typo).
  • Erasure — request deletion ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest (e.g., product analytics).
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — for personalized ads, withdraw consent anytime via Settings → Privacy → Privacy Options in the App; this doesn't affect processing done before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint — with your local Data Protection Authority.

Legal basis: consent (personalized ads, UMP), legitimate interest (anonymous product analytics, crash/feedback support), and contract performance (delivering paid subscription features).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email in §15.

12. CCPA/CPRA — Rights for California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by CPRA), California residents have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed.
  • Delete personal information we've collected (subject to certain exceptions).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal data for money. Ad identifiers used by AdMob for personalized ads may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under CPRA — you can opt out via Settings → Privacy → Privacy Options in the App or your device's Ads settings.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny goods/services or charge different prices for exercising these rights.

To submit a request, email us at the address in §15. We will verify your request using the anonymous device ID or feedback email associated with your data.

13. International Data Transfers

Our backend and third-party providers (Google) may process data on servers located outside your country, including the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) provided by those third parties.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
