Overview

Magic RGB Remote ("the app") is a free Android application that lets you control RGB LED strip lights and bulbs using your phone's built-in infrared (IR) blaster. This policy explains what data the app and its third-party services handle.

The app does not require an account, sign-in, or internet connection to perform its core function (sending IR signals). No personal information is collected by the app itself.

Data the App Stores Locally

The app saves the following on your device only, using Android's local storage (shared_preferences). This data is never transmitted anywhere:

• Selected theme (light / dark)
• Selected button style and remote layout preference
• IR carrier frequency setting
• Sound and vibration feedback preferences

This data is removed automatically if you uninstall the app or clear app data.

Advertising

The app shows ads (banner and interstitial) to support free use, served through Google AdMob and. These third-party ad networks may collect data such as advertising identifiers, device information, coarse location, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted.

In the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent for personalized ads before any ad-related data is collected, in line with GDPR requirements. You can change your consent choice at any time from within the app's settings.

Permissions

• Infrared (IR) transmitter access — required to send remote control signals to your RGB LED light or bulb. Not all devices have this hardware; the app will not function without it.
• Internet access — used only by the advertising SDKs to load and report ads. Not required for the app's IR remote functionality.

Data Sharing & Retention

We do not sell your data. We do not have servers that store your personal information — the app has no backend. Any data handling beyond local storage is performed solely by the third-party ad SDKs listed above, under their own privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
